Below is a job description for our Facility Engineer position(s). 

JOB TITLE:        Facility Engineer

REPORTS TO:   Account Executive

FLSA STATUS:   Exempt

 

 

SUMMARY:

The Facility Engineer serves as both a manager and coordinator, handling various projects within the organization. This role oversees costs, scheduling and timeline with all projects associated with specific customer(s) of the Account Executive. The Facility Engineer manages resources, including equipment and people, as well as performing any field labor requirements for the successful completion of projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability, and physical demands required.

  • Estimates jobs as it relates to labor, material, and equipment.

  • Enters all information timely and accurately from Account Executive into ERP software.

  • Develops agreements, addendums, memos, warranties, and other pertinent documents.

  • Schedules company labor and equipment needs for projects.

  • Fosters relationships with subcontractors to develop subcontractor agreements and labor schedules.

  • Completes required paperwork accurately and timely for Customer and Company.

  • Follows all safety restrictions required by Company, Customer, and OSHA.

  • Ability to understand wiring diagrams.

  • Stays current with industry standards and procedures and attends training sessions.

  • Manages and inventories material and vendor lists.

  • Visits jobsites to measure, record, survey, and at times service existing equipment.

  • Provides and manages field work through third-party service companies.

  • Uses engineering and systems knowledge to diagnose jobsite problems, and makes best effort to repair, replace, or maintain equipment and controls systems.

  • Ability to help with field labor including startups and warranty service calls.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or five (5) years’ experience in the HVAC industry is required.

  • Two years of experience in a project management role is preferred.

  • EPA HVAC Certification is required.

  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam, required.

  • FACTS experience is a plus.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 25 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to frequently move about inside tight and cramped spaces. They may operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and adjust as necessary.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

This position works in various settings, with much outdoor exposure during the day. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but can escalate to high while on work site.
