SUMMARY:

The OEM Parts Sales Representative sells goods to customers. This position creates and maintains customer relationships to meet sales goals and company benchmarks. The OEM Parts Salesperson also performs day-to-day tasks of the OEM department by ordering parts, initiating warranty replacement, following up on shipping, managing inventory availability with vendors, etc. while providing exceptional customer support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability, and physical demands required.

 

  • Establishes customer relationships to understand needs and close the sale.

  • Answers and assists customers via the Parts toll-free number for all Insight locations.

  • Contacts new and current customers over the phone and email to educate on new products and offerings with the company.

  • Conducts selling efforts to obtain sales goals.

  • Maintains OEM stock levels, notifying Warehouse/Purchasing Support of needs, and participates in the inventory process.

  • Pulls/packs orders for customer shipping and/or delivery to match purchase orders and assists with loading company vehicle(s).

  • Utilizes new processes, tools, communications, training and methodologies to meet department goals.

  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers and attends trainings.

  • Executes warranty claims for customers in specified branch locations.

  • Provides assistance and back up to Store Branch Manager with necessary customerrequirements.

  • Unloads inventory from freight trucks, as needed.

  • Receives and documents deliveries for discrepancies and resolves problems promptly with Warehouse/Purchasing Support, as needed.

  • Maintains a “Customer First” attitude always.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education and/or Experience- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate required). 1-2 years of retail/wholesale experience required. HVAC parts experience preferred.

  • Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in English. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers (internal and external). Ability to effectively present information to management. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication with supervisor, customers, co-workers, vendors, etc.

  • Mathematical Skills- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc. This role requires an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office. FACTs experience is a plus.

  • Other Qualifications- Forklift certification or ability to get certified within first 30 days is preferred, but not required.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer as well as warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the individual normally works in an office with controlled climate. The noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate. This individual will frequent the warehouse where conditions are controlled by the weather and will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the warehouse work environment is usually moderate. The individual may operate a forklift if certified.
