About Us

Insight Recon, formerly PACE Recon, has been repairing cooling towers in the Carolinas for over 55 years and is proud to be your go-to source for factory-authorized refurbishment, repairs, reconstruction, parts, and replacement components to lengthen the life of your cooling tower.

After many years of operation, cooling towers may require more than small repair work and individual component replacement to return the thermal performance necessary to support plant processes.  Above and beyond thermal performance is the need to address the durability of the cooling tower. Replacement of the heat transfer media (“fill”) in an older cooling tower will boost cooling capacity short-term, but unless structural integrity is addressed, there will be no improvement in the longevity of the cooling tower. The structures of older cooling towers of wood construction, for example, have no doubt seen an inherent loss of strength depending on variables such as wood species and operating conditions. Spot repairs are an inexpensive approach to maintaining operability; however, they do not address the potential loss in the structural safety factor of the cooling tower. With proper guidance, a successful cooling tower reconstruction project can achieve returns in both cooling capacity and structural integrity, thus extending the life of the cooling tower.

With these goals in mind, how can you plan and execute a successful project and avoid potential reconstruction pitfalls? Regardless of your experience with cooling tower reconstruction, a review of industry best practices will help ensure your success.

Whether you need emergency service or scheduled maintenance, our network’s specialists are dedicated to providing solutions for any tower manufacturer, model, size, or environment.

Customer Testimonial,
Wayne Community College

“I just want to share with you how pleased I was with the crew you sent here to make the needed cooling tower repairs. The weather couldn’t have been much worse on the days they showed up to work (rainy, windy, and cold). Never heard a complaint from anyone on the crew. They performed their work in a professional manner, and the best I can tell, it appears to be above industry standards for quality.

“They were accommodating to work with, and they were very efficient in their work ethic. I truly was expecting this to be at least a three- to four-day effort, and they were complete in a day and a half and I was back up and operational. To tell the truth, it was refreshing to see the teamwork this crew has obviously developed, and it was directly reflected in their skilled work production.

“Honestly, I had put this work off longer than I should have because I was dreading the maintenance complications that can surface in a repair project of this nature. My experience with you and your maintenance repair crew has restored my faith in contractor support and lowered my anxiety for future cooling tower projects.

“Please pass on my thanks to this dedicated and professional maintenance team.”

"I’d like to recognize and thank Johnny, Ken, Will, Austin, and Jarret for their work at the Center for Marine Science Cooling Tower.

Having work done at this twenty-year-old research facility is always stressful. The fact that we were doing a complete fan replacement project in the middle of August only added to the anxiety. The team made this project one of the smoothest I’ve seen anywhere

Starting from the coordination of the crane operator and electrician and going all the way through material delivery, set up, assembly, and installation, your team was professional, well-organized, and fast. They went above and beyond when, at the end of the last day, taking the additional time to install nozzles and cups that had been sitting on our shelf for over five years.

I appreciate the outstanding service provided to UNCW and look forward to seeing them again on future work."

Customer Testimonial,

"Just met with Tyce and Trisha at the plant to close out PENTA’S current scope of work. They were very happy with the job Insight Partners did. Please provide a special thanks to Johnny, Jarrett, and their guys too. They did a great job of working with and pleasing our client. There was absolutely no room for improvement in the services you provided.  The timing was perfect in every aspect, making the project a complete success. I look forward to the next opportunity to work with you and your team of experts."
